Coinsation Joins NaVOBA's “Buy Veteran” campaign

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., 1 August 2010 – Coinsation, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business that specializes in contemporary coin and casino chip displays, is part of the growing national campaign to “Buy Veteran” – which encourages consumers to buy products and services from veteran-owned businesses.

The National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) recently launched its “Buy Veteran” campaign. A recent national poll revealed that it’s not just the government and large corporations that want to buy from veterans – the average American consumer wants to buy veteran too.

“I’m proud to be part of the Buy Veteran campaign,” said Ted Oakley, Coinsation owner and CEO.

Oakely’s STRATCOIN display is sold with the “Buy Veteran” logo on the box. In September, Oakley won a contract with the Army and Air Force Exchange Services, which operates more than 2,000 stores worldwide. The STRATCOIN, which holds 22 coins, is available now for stores to stock.

“With AAFES stores located all around the globe, we are taking this “Buy Veteran” campaign worldwide,” Oakley said.

Oakley, who is a NaVOBA regional board member, is working with local Chamber of Commerce officials to explain the campaign and spread the enthusiasm about buying services and products from veteran-owned business.

The STRATCOIN was made in the spirit of military tradition-- invented and patented by an active duty Air Force member. Its contemporary design transcends the traditional without sacrificing our great American tradition.

Coinsation LLC Exhibits at the 6th Annual Veterans Conference

Ted Oakley presents a STRATCOIN military challenge coin display to Retired CMSgt of
the Air Force Rodney McKinley at the 6th
Annual National Veterans Conference held
in Las Vegas, NV, between 19-22 Jul 10.

LAS VEGAS, NV, 19-22 July, 2010 – Coinsation LLC took its show on the road this July to the 6th Annual Veterans Conference, 19-22 July 2010. Ted Oakley was rubbing elbows with the likes of Air Force and the Army’s Small Business Outreach Program Managers, to include GSA representatives and many others. The Coinsation Coin Display Exhibit was quite the hit, even amongst some of top United States’ corporate/government giants, such as Northrup Grumman, Department of Treasury, Vetbiz, NaVOBA, etc.  There were countless oooh’s and aahhh’s during the expo pertaining to Coinsation’s signature display, STRATCOIN.  Attendees raved about its innovative design and quality look and feel, which sets itself apart from traditional wooden coin displays.  Also, as an added bonus, many were excited to see a portion of CEO Ted Oakley’s personal coin collection that he decided to exhibit on the STRATCOIN display--coins he previously earned such as President George W. Bush’s coveted Presidential Protective Division Coin, Secretary of the Air Force Coin, Chiefs of Staff of the Air Force & Army Coins, FBI and CIA Coins, etc.  The coins, which came in different shapes and sizes proved that Coinsation’s STRATCOIN was versatile enough to hold the ‘Best of the Best’ challenge coins though they differed in shape and size.

During the expo, Ted Oakley’s coin display exhibit was approached by a gentleman that took a particular interest in Air Force Chief of Staff Moseley’s coin, and as Oakley approached to elaborate, the gentlemen grinned and said, “I worked for General Moseley—I’m Chief McKinley (CMSgt of the Air Force (Ret) Rodney McKinley , as a matter of fact!).”  Oakley was excited to have met McKinley, who now works for MicroTech* as their Senior Vice President for Senior Partnerships. McKinley also related it was great to see such a new product on display for challenge coins, adding he had over 3000 military challenge coins!! That would take a lot of STRATCOIN coin holders!!

At the expo closing, McKinley coined Oakley with a firm handshake and wish of good luck…the coin? Well, it was the coveted CMSgt of the Air Force, Rodney J. McKinley Coin—hooah!!

Oakley & CJCS on Veterans Day!

CEO Ted Oakley & Gen Myers
(former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff)

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, November 11, 2009 - CEO Ted Oakley poses with the former United States' Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Richard Myers (USAF, Retired) at the prestigious five star resort, The Broadmoor (Colorado Springs, CO). General Myers was the guest speaker at this formal event in honor of Veteran's Day. Veteran's Day was once or is still celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.

General Myers was Chairman at one of the most critical times in our nation's history as the nation responded to the attacks of September 11, 2001. In his role as the nation's top ranking military officer, he served as the principal military advisor to the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council during the earliest stages of the War on Terror, including planning and execution of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The Veteran's Day Luncheon was a wonderful celebration of veterans and military servicemen and women who have served or are currently serving the United States of America. The National Homeland Defense Foundation, the USO, and The Military Affairs Council (MAC) of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce were the hosts of this Colorado Springs special event.

SAN ANTONIO, TX, November 11, 2008 -  Senator Carlos I. Uresti presented a Letter of Special Thanks to Ted Oakley, CEO of Coinsation LLC, for his military service and business leadership.  The letter was delivered to Senator Uresti from the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, and signed by Texas State Governor Rick Perry. First Lady Anita Perry also joined Governor Perry in his letter of thanks and appreciation.  In his letter to Ted and other San Antonio veterans, Governor Perry added, “…I salute you. On behalf of all Texans, thank you for your service.”

The evening started out with greetings and warm thanks to all the veterans who attended Senator Uresti’s Veterans in Business Awards reception.  Senator Uresti didn’t miss a step as he had the event catered with nothing other than--good old Texas Barbeque!  Senator Uresti addressed the veterans in attendance and related he too served in the military as a US Marine, knowing the sacrifices that veterans and their families endure.  He spoke with a calm sincerity and gave thanks to the veterans, present and past, who have fought for our nation’s freedom.

Ted Oakley was extremely thankful to have been presented Governor Perry’s letter of thanks.  He also seemed just as thankful meeting local veterans he hadn’t known.  “Getting to know fellow veterans and sharing each others’ ‘war stories’ is really an awesome experience…it puts life in perspective, solidifying that you’re not alone as a veteran—rather, you’re known as a ‘brother-for-life’ to the military and veteran community.”

Air Force Veteran Ted Oakley Recognized for Community Influence by San Antonio West  Chamber of Commerce

San Antonio’s River Walk Publishing, LLC Nominates CEO Ted Oakley of Coinsation LLC for Community Leadership during “Veterans in Business Day 2008” Celebration Hosted by San Antonio’s West Chamber of Commerce

Retired General Eugene Habinger and Mr. Ted Oakley, Coinsation
SAN ANTONIO, TX, November 4, 2008 -  As the National Anthem played, you could just sense the feeling of military pride, brotherhood, and patriotism in the air.  It was a day to remember, a day for the West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce to celebrate ‘Veterans in Business 2008’ at San Antonio’s festive El Tropicano Hotel.  The Chamber’s awards banquet, hosted by Mrs. Mary Cruz, President of the West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, honored veteran businesses within the community who have served their country and have been an influence for the growth and progress of San Antonio’s community.  Among the honorees, stood retired US Air Force Special Agent Ted Oakley, CEO of Coinsation LLC, a service-disabled veteran and cancer survivor who is a military collectible display inventor, manufacturer, and veteran entrepreneur.

The Chamber was turned on to CEO Ted Oakley of Coinsation LLC by two young pioneers at River Walk Publishing, LLC.  Both of River Walk’s executives Christopher Herring and Gerald D. Givens Jr. recognized Oakley’s recent successes and his unique way of giving back to the military community that he served and grew so fond of.   “It couldn’t go unrecognized,” stated Herring.  The CEO & President of River Walk Publishing, LLC. added, “Ted has invented a display of honor for the military and veteran community…his coin display (STRATCOIN) is truly--one-of-a-kind.”  When Oakley, Herring, or Givens were asked about their accomplishments, they seemed to uplift each others’ businesses rather than their own.  They had a deep fondness and respect for one another’s visions.  Considering they were all raised and interconnected from the same Air Force and its core values--integrity, service and excellence—it’s no surprise!

As Cruz read the award and proclamation on Oakley’s behalf, retired General Eugene Harbinger presented the prestigious award that was endorsed not only by the City of San Antonio, but also the State of Texas.  Oakley displayed his appreciation for the award and thanked the West Chamber of Commerce and River Walk Publishing, LLC. for the nomination and giving of such an award.  Oakley humbly stated, “I can only thank those who have served and sacrificed before me for this award…it’s a special day in San Antonio.”

As the Veterans in Business 2008 provided a great opportunity for Coinsation, it also benefited every participating veteran owned business by means of establishing business presence and business-to-business relations and networks.  Coinsation™ LLC is an US military veteran owned businesses.  Interested parties can view more information at: http://www.coinsation.com.

Veteran Owned Business Conference
Coinsation.com Partners with San Antonio’s River Walk Magazine at Texas Small Business Conference

SAN ANTONIO, TX, December 5, 2007 - In need of a military challenge coin display or maybe media rich, exclusive San Antonian River Walk Magazine? Well, two companies, Coinsation and River Walk Magazine, combined to fill that need at the 2007 Small Minority Women & Veteran Business Owners Conference (SMWVBOC), San Antonio, Texas. Coinsation™, a manufacturer, supplier, and retailer, of unique and one-of-a-kind coin displays partnered with River Walk Magazine, which is a traditional but yet nuevo and fashionably spirited magazine dedicated to fit the diverse needs of San Antonio. Are you perplexed as to how these businesses relate? Ironically, it is the patriotic core of each business which is the answer. Both Coinsation and River Walk Magazine were initiated from US military veterans with a divergence of business concepts but were amazingly congealed via a spirited military brotherhood to include an undying entrepreneurial spirit.

CEO Ted Oakley of Coinsation™ and CEO Gerald D. Givens Jr. first met in early 2007 during a downtown San Antonio marketing campaign. That was all that was needed -- to liaise and discover they both were about to embark as business associates as well as find out they were ‗military brothers‘ hailing from the United States Air Force! Givens, who was a vendor at the SMWVBO conference, graciously invited Oakley to the convention, and offered a piece of his prime real estate, a perfectly located exhibitor booth to exhibit his ultra-premier coin display. Oakley displayed his new and innovative Pyramid Coin Display: STRATCOIN™ -- The Strategic Coin Display, which not only received rave reviews but became a product of interest and a topic of many discussions throughout the day – a true artistic conversational piece. Concurrent with the attention drawn to STRATCOIN, Givens was rolling in ad sales and widening River Walk Magazine‘s customer base! The SMWVBO Conference was sponsored by Bexar County and the City of San Antonio and was held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. As it provided a great opportunity for Coinsation and River Walk Magazine, it also benefited every participating veteran owned business by means of establishing business presence and business-to-business relations and networks.
